Introduction:

Bioimaging Inc.The "Bona Fide Phantom" (BFP) is a quality control tool for dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) instruments with acrylic embedded hydroxyapatite (CHA) trapezoidal wedges. Advanced design features make it a good choice for evaluating the stability of DEXA instruments. You can successfully use BFP on all major DEXA instruments.

The Cirs 026 Bone Density Phantom is available in a range of densities (0.7-1.5 g/cm2) to verify instrument functionality within a clinically relevant range, rather than just a "healthy" BMD. The linearity of BMD across the entire clinical range is critical to the evaluation of the entire instrument. Phantom uses the CHA plugin to directly assess the accuracy of bone density. The CHA plug-in complies with FDA clinical trial guidance on cross-calibration model 2. Each blade is machined to ensure manufacturing precision.

The Cirs 026 bone density phantom is die-cast acrylic and comes with a carrying case for easy handling. The tote remains on the phantom during the scan and does not affect BMD readings, allowing for quick placement and removal of the phantom from the bed. A flight case is available as an option.
