Detailed introduction
Most waste measurements are made under non-uniform conditions, which reduces measurement accuracy if the activity is not evenly distributed throughout the cartridge. Rotating the barrel makes the item "look" more even to the detector. Uncertainty in matrix attenuation can be reduced using the Isotopic program. Therefore, the reported results reflect an improvement (reduction) in the overall measurement uncertainty.
The drum requires a forklift or hand truck to safely position it in the center of the platform. The height of the platform is 6.5 inches above the floor. No additional electronic noise is introduced in HPGe detector signal processing.
