Detailed introduction
The EL910 filter holder is a mechanical device used to hold filter media in the sample gas stream to collect potentially radioactive particles. The location of the filter media facilitates the installation of detectors, allowing continuous radiation measurement of the filter. The filter is easily accessible via a cam-locked, O-ring sealed slide. The El910 is a 2-inch diameter filter paper holder capable of withstanding flow rates up to 10 CFM through the filter media.
Common detectors used with the EL910 include GM tubes, NaI, and charged particle detectors. ORTEC Type 905-1 NaI fits this holder. ORTEC ULTRA™ detectors with diameters up to 1700 mm2 can be mounted on the EL910. Complete monitoring systems based on the EL910 - including detectors, electronics and software can be ordered from ORTEC.
If no detector is used, the EL910 can be used as a simple sampler.
