RSD's stereotaxic surgery head phantom is designed to check the accuracy of treatment to ensure quality. Fill the other cavity with the TLD dose measuring cylinder and a solid piece plus dry water cylinder. Also included are two spare nylon mounting rods and two spare blind nylon nuts. Optional: Truncated cone of ion chamber (includes installation of ion chamber to user specifications in center of sphere) and film dosing cylinder.
There are provisions for mounting dose measuring cylinders at two locations on the skull. one on the headOn the CC axis, near the top. The other side is closer to the side of the head, about ear level. Both cylinders are perpendicular to the transverse plane of the head. Since the dose could only be measured at one location at a time, the other location was filled with a dry water bottle that had no dosimetric regulations. The target can be localized via an initial CT scan.
