Detailed introduction
To maintain ultra-fast rise times, the Model 9306 design uses high-quality 50Ω coaxial cable with SMA connectors and 50Ω termination resistors for signal reception and transmission. The input is AC coupled, has 50Ω input impedance, and is protected to ±1 V. Two identical outputs are provided to allow simultaneous connection of two different instruments. Both outputs are AC coupled, short-circuit protected, and capable of driving pulse amplitudes from 0 to -2 V into a 50 Ω load.
The Model 9306 1 GHz preamplifier draws +24 V DC power from the NIM module or power supply via its own power cord and standard 9-pin D-type connector. The ORTEC Model 4002P portable power supply and most NIM amplifiers can provide the power required for compatible preamplifiers.
