The ORTEC Model 9301 low noise, fast rise time preamplifier is designed for use with photomultiplier tubes, electron multipliers and other detectors used in photon counting, ion counting or fast timing applications. When connected to a detector, the 50Ω input resistor of the Model 9301 will provide a load resistance for the detector's output current pulses.

In addition to a fast rise time of 1.5 ns, this preamplifier has a voltage gain of 10 and an output impedance of 50 Ω. Due to its small size and light weight, the Model 9301 is ideal for mounting directly to or close to the detector. Therefore, low-level signals that are susceptible to noise or interference are boosted to an appropriate level for cable connection to the main amplifier. Connect to the power source using the 3 meter (10 ft) included power cord of Model 9301.

Model 9301 is equipped with a power cord connector (Amphenol 17-20090) and is compatible with other ORTEC NIM standard modules.
