The term "fast" refers to the general nature of the coincidence circuit; that is, the input pulse is reshaped and the actual coincidence measurement is made on the leading edge or leading portion of the pulse. A DC-coupled anti-coherence input is provided to suppress the coincidence output by a DC voltage or pulses with overlapping coincidence pulses. Compliant with input AC coupling, all four inputs are controlled by input/output toggle switches.
The resolution time 2τ of the fast coincidence device can be adjusted from 10 to 110 ns via a 10-turn control, ensuring precise readjustment of the resolution time. The resolution time of the anti-coincidence circuit is set by the width of the input pulse.
