Detailed introduction
ANGLEis an advanced efficiency calculation application based on efficiency transfer concepts for high-purity germanium and detectors. This method combines measured efficiencies with known reference configurations and solid angle models to derive efficiencies for different vessels, sample materials, and sample locations. This semi-empirical approach is more accurate than a purely mathematical model because larger errors that may arise from unknown detector characteristics (such as crystal defects, contact level thickness, and dead layers) are canceled out in the reference efficiency measurement. Additionally, since the reference efficiency can be determined from any standard source, the detector does not require complex and expensive factory calibration.
