Compact design includes everything you need
The 2BY2 or 3BY3 is a complete NaI(Tl) probe, ready to be used in your work. Each model contains a photomultiplier tube (PMT) NaI(Tl) crystal (2" x 2" or 3" x 3"), and a PMT header with integrated preamplifier and high-voltage power supply, securely mounted within a compact aluminum housing.
Ultra-low power consumption; end bulky external high-voltage power supplies
The Model 296 ScintiPack PMT header includes a low-power, adjustable high-voltage power supply, an active bias network and a charge-sensitive preamplifier. Incorporating the bias supply into the PMT base eliminates the need for high voltage cables to connect to a bulky external high voltage supply. Active bias networks allow high-rate operation with minimal peak drift. The ScintiPack's ultra-low power consumption (240 mW) makes it ideal for portable applications.
Single cable connection
Power the preamplifier and high-voltage supply, as well as get the signal from the preamplifier, via a single cable. For the "-DD" version, direct connection via cable to digiDART or digiDART-LF (and other ORTEC DSP digital multichannels) is possible. If a standard BNC cable connection is required, an optional breakaway cable is available for models 2BY2 or 3BY3.
