Detailed introduction

Since 2004, the ORTEC Detective Series Handheld Radioisotope Identifiers (HHRIIDS or RIIDS) have been active on the front lines to stop illicit nuclear material trafficking, and ORTEC RIIDS are used every day by the following organizations:

  • Department of Homeland Security
  • national security organization
  • group
  • emergency response team
  • Customs and Border Control
  • , and air force
  • emergency management team
  • civil support group
  • bureau
  • nuclear safeguards organization
  • nuclear fuel manufacturer
  • nuclear researcher
  • U.S. Second Line of Defense Operation Superport Plan

All Detective instruments are based on cryogenically cooled ORTEC HPGe detectors, which use identification algorithms developed on the basis of original transfer technology from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (TL-01754-03 and TL-01753-03) and refined for practical use.

New features! To support a wider range of HHRIID applications, ORTEC now offers RADEAGLET-R HIRIID-based scintillator detection technology. RADEAGLET-R is one of the fastest, most accurate RIIDs in its class, typically detecting and identifying up to four isotopes simultaneously in less than 30 seconds, even with complex shielding or situations.

Hand-Held Radioisotope Identifiers - DetectiveWhen it comes to stopping illegal nuclear trafficking, there can be no room for error; you need ORTEC Detective. Similar products cannot achieve the same results.
